Why cleanings are so important ...

Part of good oral hygiene involves regular check-ups and twice-a-year professional cleanings by our highly trained team of hygienists.  They  will remove the tartar that regular tooth-brushing and flossing cannot. They take a personal interest in you — and your teeth.

Our professional cleanings include tooth scaling and polishing as well as debridement if too much tartar has accumulated. During regular cleanings, Dr. Williamson will check your teeth, mouth and gums, looking for signs of other illnesses, such as oral cancers and gum disease.

Regular check-ups and cleanings are insurance that you — and your mouth — are in the best possible health. They can help prevent:

Oral cancers: Every hour in the United States, someone dies from oral cancer. During your cleanings and check-ups, Dr. Williamson will check your mouth for signs of oral cancer, which is highly curable if caught early.

Gum disease: Diagnosed early, gum disease can be treated and reversed.

Dental problems: Dr. Williamson will examine your mouth for signs of other illnesses. When problems are caught early, they require less intervention.

Bad breath: Studies show that 85 percent of people with persistent bad breath have an underlying dental problem.
